THAT DARK OTHER MOUNTAIN
Robert Francis
My father could go down a mountain faster than I
Though I was the first one up.
Legs braced or with quick steps he slid the gravel slopes
Where I picked cautious footholds.
Black, Iron, Eagle, Doublehead, Chocorua, Wildcat and Carter Dome--
He beat me down them all.
And that last other mountain,
And that dark other mountain.
TPCASTT
T-from many mountains one mountain is black
P-His father is going to die faster than he is
he goes out unnoticably leaving his foodstep
he goes through many experiences in life
but I can't follow his experience because of the age
and finally he dies
C-personification: Where I picked cautious footholds
symbol: last other mountain(dark other mountain) symbolizes sadness and death
imagery: Legs braced or with quick steps he slid the gravel slopes
A-author expresses his sadness with verbal voice, yearning
S-My father could go down a mountain faster than I Though I was the first one up.
he thought he can find his father if we waked up early.
T-the title means that his father has finally disappeared (died)
T-this poem is about the authors sadness toward his father. (yearning about his father)
I think many people regrets after something has happened. when his father has died he finally realizes the importance of his father.

Good work, Robin - however, relook at your personification example. What inanimate thing is given human characteristics in that statement/line?
